Six week Pilates course commencing 20th July from 8 - 9p.m. fee €50 tutor Bernadine Walshe. Pilates helps to strengthen and tone muscle; improve posture; improve co-ordination; provide flexibility and balance as well as helping to relieve stress and tension.
1st Friday Coffee Morning: - Thanks to all those who supported the 1st Friday Coffee Morning on the on the 2nd July €933 went to Trocaire for their work in Niger; €1,000 went to Sr. Miriam a Franciscan Missionary Sister for her work with Aids victims in Africa; €1,000 went to Vita an Irish international development agency with field offices in the Horn of Africa whose vision is to forge long-term international partnerships which bring an end to extreme poverty, reduce vulnerability and increase the sustainability of people’s livelihoods by Building Sustainable Livelihoods. A cheque for €1,000 was presented to Helen Johnston from Doohamlet a newly qualified physiotherapist who is travelling to Romania on the 15th July with the Irish charity Comber to work as a volunteer physiotherapist. Helen will also be involved in educating staff in Comber’s group homes on working with young adults with disability. She will also be leading parents of children with disabilities in education classes for six weeks.
